Based in Beijing, China and reporting to the Principal Analyst in San Francisco, you will have a key role in a global team, where your work will directly spark international discussion at top-tier events or in leading business and tech press. The Team

The Market Insights team creates industry analyses that educate and inform the wider app industry and cement our position as the industry thought leader. This team is responsible for identifying compelling new insights and trends around the app store economy and utilizes App Annie’s world-renowned market data, combined with the latest mobile and technology news, to create reports that shake the industry to its core.

Market Insights covers all regions around the world and spans numerous B2B verticals, including gaming, technology, mobile telecom, investors and media, while also working closely with multiple internal groups within App Annie to really bring these analyses to life.

Responsibilities

• Create insightful industry analyses to educate the wider app industry
• Cement App Annie’s regional reputation in the Asia-Pacific as the “go-to” app and mobile thought leader
• Identify findings and trends within our data by using Microsoft Excel, Tableau and other reporting and visualization tools
• Stay on top of relevant industry trends and news for the Asia-Pacific region
• Provide holistic industry insight by combining findings from App Annie’s data with relevant external information
• Clearly communicate industry findings through charts, slide decks and written reports
• Work with media outlets, customers and partners in the Asia-Pacific on ad hoc requests for industry data and insights as needed
  

You

• 4 to 7 years professional working experience
• Desire to discover and communicate findings and trends to others in the app industry
• Strong analytical, quantitative, research, and writing skills
• Thrive working hands-on with large volumes of varied data and information with the curiosity to dive in and discover what is driving the trends
• Ability to understand and integrate that data and information into a compelling story
• Comfortable working with numbers and knowing how they should and shouldn’t be combined and analyzed
• Able to recognize the implications that changes in data will have on other data points
• Demonstrated experience finding relevant and credible external information on your own
• Deliver high-quality analytical writing that is informative, credible, readable, and engaging and will be picked up by the blogosphere and the tech press
• Take real ownership of your work with dedication to relevant detail and accuracy
• Manage overlapping projects and deadlines within a dynamic, challenging environment
• Motivated self-starter who’s always to looking to improve
• Prior work experience in the app, mobile, or tech spaces or in research, investment, or consulting companies; experience with the finance, advertising, media/entertainment, or books industries is a plus
• Fully fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English and Chinese
