Yes or no.
In fact, education everywhere goes the same way.
We are living in a business world.
Majority of the education belongs to an industry running for profit.
Putting unnecessary service into customers' hand, and
getting more money out of her/his pocket is the normal conduct to squeeze out more cash.
Does the Chinese professors force you to buy never-use-textbook?
Does the Chinese professors force you to do homework online, so you have to consume the service?
Does the Chinese college force its students to buy gradation garments?
Current "no" doesn't mean future "no".
My point is,
think it broadly.
It is not an "Chinese" event.
It actually happens worldwide.
So, blame "education", or "modern education",
not "中国教育".
Doing so, you will have deeper insight. And
maybe more likely than not to find a solution for your own kids in the future.
Thank you.
I enjoy reading your comment.
Just want to share my understanding with you. :)
