The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank - the AIIB - offers China a potent voice on the world stage and challenges the dollar-based financial institutions with which it may one day compete including the IMF and the World Bank. So is this a defining moment in the rise of China? Pippa Malmgren, former Whitehouse Economic Adviser to George W Bush, Michael Pettis Beijing-based economic theorist and financial strategist, Steve Tsang, Head of School and professor of Contemporary Chinese Studies at Nottingham University and the BBC's China editor consider the question.

Editor's comments :As Chinese president Xi Jingping put forward the plan for establishing The AIIB, no western countries announce to embrace mainland China's ambitious proposal because of fearing of the objection from the USA. But now it's obvious to see more countries are pragmatic in making decision just considersing the interest of their own nation. In the coming years, the enterprises from the members of AIIB can do a lot . What do you think we can do in the constrcution of  asian infrastructure investment?
