Xi’an Jiaotong University invites applications for the Distinguished Professor of Economics, including theoretical and applied micro, info / uncertainty, finance (theoretical), macro / money, international, econ history, math econ, IO / regulations, law & economics, public finance, labor and econometrics. This is a special program for young talents. We seek candidates below 40/45 years old who will be internationally recognized for research, lead community partnerships, excel in teaching and mentoring students, and provide academic leadership as an active senior member of our faculty. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of accomplishment consistent with those roles, with a distinguished record of leadership in public administration. A PhD degree in Economics or a related discipline is required. The successful candidate will serve as a core faculty in our center and teach in the academic programs of Economics.


JCER was founded in Xian Jiaotong University by two economists (graduated from Chicago and Princeton) in 1997 to introduce modern economics curriculum into China, offering B.A, M.A. and PhD degrees in economics. Much teaching/advising works are delivered by American educated visiting faculty. JCER is mandated by the University to assemble in one scoop (2-3 years) a first class, in-resident core team (10-15 economists) all from abroad. Existing visiting faculty will remain to ease teaching load and enrich research interactions for the incoming resident faculties. JCER has 10 faculty and over 30 visiting professor group serving over 140 students in undergraduate and graduate programs, including BA, MA and PhD programs.
