The new edition of this text is based on Version 6.1 of SPSS, which is compatible with both IBM and Macintosh environments. It remains a practical text, intended both as an introduction to the use of SPSS as well as a guide for users wishing to conduct more complicated analytical procedures. Assumption testing for each procedure is discussed at the beginning of the relevant chapters, and screen displays throughout provide clear guidelines on the use of SPSS. The appropriate data screening methods are outlined prior to analysis and interpretation of the output. The text also includes: end-of-chapter exercises to help consolidate data analysis skills; with SPSS data disks (one IBM and one Macintosh format) which help users to work through each procedure while using the text; a new chapter on multiple response and multiple dichotomy analysis; and answers to end-of-chapter practice questions, including both syntax and output.
