Witha bachelor's degree, you gain a specialty:
 
而硕士学位使得你的特长更加扎实:
Amaster's degree deepens that specialty:
 
通过阅读研究相关的论文你可以了解人类知识的边缘所在:
Readingresearch papers takes you to the edge of human knowledge:
 
当你处在人类知识的边缘时,你就需要专注一点进行研究了:
Onceyou're at the boundary, you focus:
 
你需要在这个边缘地点进行数年的努力钻研:
Youpush at the boundary for a few years:
 
直到有一天,你突破了边缘的限制:
Untilone day, the boundary gives way:
 
那时,你所完成的那个小突破(凹坑)就叫做“博士”:
And,that dent you've made is called a Ph.D.:
