继本周初前美国国务卿——鲍威尔(也是混血)对盖茨门闹剧实在看不下去,终于站出来打抱不平,提出明显
与自己曾支持的奥巴马不同的观点后(或许是为了缓和部分共和党人对他的“叛党”行为的谴责),前纽约
市长在福克斯著名电视主持人HANNITY的访谈中对奥巴马及盖茨的做法做了更为客观的评述。
(一)针对奥巴马极力推销的医改方案,7月31日共和党的重头人物前纽约市长(可能会当选2010年纽约州长)
朱尼安尼评价说:
1)民主党blue dog们与其说是出自于真心诚意,倒不如说是在作秀
so they're doing a show rather than it comes from the heart
2)他们提出的增加国营化的医疗保险的点子——是一场灾难,对经济和社会都是个灾难
is a disaster, a disaster for the economy, a disaster for the society
3) 奥巴马想迫使国会投票(通过医改方案),但他却说不出会有多少人要为此付出多大的代价,(总计)需要
花费多少钱?又可以省多少钱?他只是说出个可笑的方案,并(保证)可以省钱。
(该方案)要涉及到4000万——5000万人口,怎么可能会省钱?
美国人现在更聪明了,不会买账的
He wants to force Congress to vote, but he can't tell you how many people, how much money it's going to cost,
how much it's going to save. He gives you this ridiculous idea that it's going to save money.
How do you cover 40 or 50 million people and save money?
The American people are more intelligent than to buy that.
(二)针对奥巴马记者招待会上的妄加评论朱尼安尼说:
1)当警官询问情况时就得闭嘴,你要是不挑逗他事情又会怎样呢?你不仅不回答,还冲着警官嚷嚷并大声尖叫?
我在布鲁克林区(黑人共居区)长大,小的时候我爸就教过我。
这的确是个好教训,这个教训也不赖。鲍威尔(前国务卿)说的也大致如此。

you don't yell, you don't scream? My father taught me that when I was very young.
I grew up in Brooklyn. It was a good lesson. Not a bad lesson.
