我这么写一封信大家看可以吗,顺便挑挑错:
Dear Sir or Madam,
My request may seem awkward and unreasonable, but I would really appreciate your efforts if you were able to send me a copy of the “Solutions Manual to accompany Principles of Corporate Finance” 7/e.
As you might observe, I am a finance major in China and I’m very lucky to sift out your book among, if not countless, hundreds of textbooks on corporate finance in a local bookstore. The minute I opened the book, I was soon fascinated by the clearly-stated well-organized theories, the real-life cases, and the humorous way that the authors write, which makes the book very easy to understand and of much help in building up the whole picture in corporate finance.
But unfortunately it was not until I bought the book and started to read it systematically that I realized how badly I needed the solutions manual. The fact is I missed most of the vivid and interesting cases found at the end of each chapter. And before long I found I was not the only person who had the problem: many students in our faculty also did. We tried almost every bookstore that we could, only to find nothing: China Machine Press never imported and translated the solutions manual!
We have the course in this semester, so it’s quite urgent.
This is my first time to write a letter in English, which means there must be many mistakes. And please accept my apologies for letting you read a letter this long. But I do believe that you had already sensed the urges that a few Chinese students have to learn finance well.
Respectfully yours,
