高效的执行力，需要领导的艺术，同时，也需要采用合适的工具：
Imagine you are a golfer standing on the tee of the last hole of your favorite golf course. If you can’t imagine yourself in that scene, picture Tiger Woods or Annika Sorenstam.
As you prepare for the shot, you consider which club would be best for the shot: the 5-wood or the 3-iron.
The 21-degree angle on the 3-iron will give you a little bit more control of the ball. And you’ll want that— if you can reach the green, that is.
But you’ve been hitting a little short today. And, so you think, maybe the extra distance of the 5-wood is what you need on this final hole.
You reach into your bag and grab…the 7-iron. It’s the only club in your bag.
You’re a one-club kind of golfer. Next time out, you might put the 5-wood in your bag instead, just to try it for a round and see how it goes. You might even test out a different club later this month—but you’ll likely just go back to the 7-iron. It’s what you started with and feels comfortable.
Ridiculous, right? Even those of us who have never played a round of golf know that no single golf club is perfect for every shot. That’s why golfers carry up to 14 different clubs.
It’s not so they can frustratedly throw 13 of them into the lake. It’s because each is a unique tool and each is best suited for different situations.
Choosing the right tool for the situation is as important in high leadership & executive as it is in golf.
