Consider
a version of Prisoner’s Dilemma with the following payoff
D C
D (X,X) (0, 10)
C (10,0) (2,2)
Note that the payoffs have been made positive but the ordering emians the same as in the game discussed in class
Where X will be 4 50% of the time and 8 50% of the time. Prepare a strategy for playing this game
5 times in a row. Each time X will be chosen randomly and you will know its value before the game is played. In your strategy you obviously have to say at the first game how to choose D or C directly but at the subsequent games the choice of C or D can
depend on what your opponent did previously.
Your mark will be related to your total payoff from the game, when each person’s strategy is played against each other person’s strategy.
If you describe a strategy that is complete and can be played you get 20% of the mark. The rest of the marks will be scaled so that the highest average score gets a mark of
96
and the median score gets a mark of 64
