Manolis G. Kavussanos
Professor Kavussanos holds a BSc and MSc (Economics) from London University and PhD
(Applied Economics) from City University Cass Business School, London. He has held
various academic posts at Cass Business School, including Reader in Shipping Economics
and Finance. There, he launched and Directed the MSc in Trade, Transport and Finance until
he joined Athens University of Economics and Business, as Professor of Finance, where he
is also the Director of the MSc and PhD programs in Accounting and Finance and of the
Research Centre for Finance. He has been visiting professor at Erasmus University; Antwerp
University; LUISS University; Cyprus International Institute of Management; University of
Piraeus; and Hellenic Open University. He has developed the area of risk analysis and
management in shipping and is the author of the book “Derivatives and Risk Management
in Shipping”.
Carol Alexander is a Professor of Risk Management at the ICMA Centre, University of
Reading, and Chair of the Academic Advisory Council of the Professional Risk Manager’s
International Association (PRMIA). She is the author of a new four-volume text on Market
Risk Analysis and of the best-selling textbook Market Models, both published by Wiley. She
has also been editor of and contributor to a very large number of books on finance and mathematics,
including the multi-volume Professional Risk Manager’s Handbook (McGraw-Hill,
2008 and PRMIA Publications). Carol has published over 100 academic journal articles,
book chapters and books, the majority of which focus on financial risk management and
mathematical finance.
Alexander Eydeland
Dr Alexander Eydeland is Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in charge of global
commodities analytic modelling. His papers on risk management, scientific computing, optimization
and mathematical economics appeared in a number of major publications and he
lectured extensively on these subjects throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan. Dr
Eydeland is a co-author (with K. Wolyniec) of the book “Energy and Power Risk Management”.
He holds a PhD degree in mathematics from Courant Institute of Mathematical
Sciences.
