新制度主义

【课程目标】

新制度主义近年席卷西方社科学界，举凡经济学、社会学、政治学，莫不深受影响。由于不论阅读文献或讨论问题，新制度主义均随时见面，其乃成为吾人学术养成训练中，必备的理论工具之一。另方面，由于制度理论经常推陈出新，事实上也成为创新观点的泉源之一，吾人可以从中汲取相当的养分。
本课程乃为有志深入理解新制度主义之研究生所设计。根据此目的，课程结构主要分为以下四部分。第一部份的内容，主要在藉由概观性质的文献，依次介绍何谓「制度」？何谓「制度解释」？「新制度主义」又为何？其主要的流派有哪些？等帮助入门同学掌握新制度主义之特征与风貌。其中，由于考量开课系所与修课同学的兴趣，特别安排讲次，探讨新制度理论如何应用于中国研究领域。课程的第二部份，则聚焦于「微观-利益的制度理论」(Micro-level & Interest-based Institutionalism)，也即学者泛称的「理性抉择或经济学的制度论」，透过铺陈其观点、介绍其方法、扩展其框架、探讨其变迁、进行其批判，使同学均能知其所长所短，以及应用的范围与方式，在修毕课程后，能实际运用于个人的研究领域。
课程的第三部份，重点在于「结构-文化的制度理论」(Structural-level/
Culture-Based Institutionalism)，亦即学者所言之「历史或社会学的制度主义」。同样透过观点铺陈、架构介绍、框架延伸、解释变迁、以及理论批判等讲次，对此类制度理论，务求修课时精熟内化、研究时独立应用。最后一部份的课程，将安排为「专题性质」的深入探讨，选择部份典范性的文献，深入解析其分析角度、逻辑推衍、经验论证等。盼能以此为起点，一方面学习、内化社会科学的研究方法，另方面则借以发掘有价值的议题，塑造未来的研究方向。

【上课方式】

本课程采「课堂研讨」(seminar)方式上课。在每周研讨之前，同学必须进行预习，针对该讲次之指定文献，撰写一页内容大纲(述明研究问题、主要论点、对话对象、是否同意等，可采条列方式写作)以及一页之意见评论(包括议题价值、研究方法、论点批判、问题延伸、意义价值等)，于研讨前透过email发送授课老师及全体修课同学(周一10AM前)。至于正式上课时间，课程分三阶段进行。首先由授课老师提示该次主题之重点、探讨之方向、及研讨的架构，并由轮值同学，针对某项该讲次指定之阅读文献，对全班进行约3-5分钟的内容报告。
课堂研讨的第二阶段为「两组对抗」。将本班修课同学分为两部份，每组须于课前准备五项问题(根据对本周阅读文献的理解，发掘其中最关键、有意义之问题，建议各组在课前先行聚会，发掘议题并安排回应)，于研讨时提问于对方，对方组必须就此项问题，立刻提出回应，在其回应后并由提问组进行简单评述。之后双方对调身份，再次进行问答攻防，如是往复五次轮回，直至问题皆尽解决为止。最后阶段则为开放讨论，由全体修课同学及授课老师，针对该周主题之相关问题，展开深层的意见交换，并就该讲次之问题，进行补充及厘清。

【评分方式】

本课程的评分标准如下。首先，每周课堂参与(个人轮值报告以及小组提问回应)，占分30%。其次，每周摘要与分析(包括一页文献摘要，一页简单评论)，占分30%。再其次，四次分析评论(约3页，3000字左右为原则)，占分40%。
