最近在国外论坛开了一个帖子《Do you know the famous economist from the China?》（翻译过来是“你知道来自中国的著名经济学家吗？”）如下：

China was one of the four civilized ancient countries of the world. However, because The First Emperor of Qin unified China in 221 B.C., the period involving debates among different schools of thoughts was over. More importantly, The First Emperor of Qin destroyed many and many thoughts from different schools, for example, science of logic (by Sun-long Gong), natural science (by Di Mo), economics (by Zong Guan) and so on. In particular, because the economics thoughts of Zong Guan were ignored, businessman was abhorred by ancient China.

Because of these reasons above, China failed to develop economic system of free markets. As a result, China started to fall behind many other countries about in 1800.

However, many and many Chinese people now have started to learn economic thoughts from other countries, especially the theory of free economy. I have known some famous economists from China, e.g. Steven N. S. Cheung, Xiao-kai Yang, Lin, Justin yifu and so on.

Do you think that the new economic theory unifying diverse economics thoughts in 21th century will be found by a Chinese economist in the future?

我的意思是古代中国忽视管仲的经济思想，难以发展市场经济学。并指出近代中国已经开始学习西方经济学，并奋起直追，出现了如张五常、杨小凯、林毅夫等著名经济学家。问他们“认为中国出现好的经济思想的可能性大吗”？

由于大多数老外把我的问题指向政治问题，与经济学无关（这些老外在政治上比较幼稚）。我只列出与经济有关的回复，当然列出两个有代表性的说法：
老外1：China will choke of carbon monoxide poisoning before any of this.
老外2：I don't think that we'll see any great Chinese economists. Chinese are not big on original thinking. They just copy things that other people do. Name one thought or invention that the Chinese have produced in recent centuries. (since writing, paper, and gunpowder many hundreds if years ago.)
老外3：Sadly, the only thing matters seems to be hybrid rice

老外1是较为讽刺的，他认为我们还是首先解决空气污染问题后，再谈学术问题吧。
老外3看来中国的杂交水稻较为靠谱。

老外2的说法最有代表性。他认为中国将来不可能出现好的经济学家（I don't think that we'll see any great Chinese economists.），原因是中国人缺乏原创性精神，并且只擅长于模仿和抄袭（Chinese are not big on original thinking. They just copy things that other people do. ）。最后他认为中国自四大发明之后，在科学思想上对世界没有贡献（since writing, paper, and gunpowder many hundreds if years ago.）。


总结：华夏中国几千年灿烂的文化，世界瞩目。但是当今世界对近代中国文化的认同度并不高，并且将中国学人烙以“copy”的代表，我觉得这应该值得所有的中国学子去深思。
