今年的申请马上要开始了，想起我去年申请上海财经大学经济学院Assistant
Professor的经历， 也算趣事一件， 说来和大家分享。

本人美国一般学校的Fiannce PhD， 背景非常一般，唯一的亮点是申请的时候有一篇文
章在Finance TOP3 的 Journal Under second round review

看了本版的一些评论，对上海财经大学经济学院有好感， 所以早早递交了申请

时间到了12月底， 虽然有其他学校的interview， 但一直没有接到他们的通知，估计
没戏了，也就不报希望了。这原本也很正常。


哪知道圣诞节前，收到一封这样的email


Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your application to Shanghai University of Finance and
Economics. After careful consideration by our recruiting committee, I regret
to let you know that we cannot accept your application to the Assistant
Professor position. We have received plenty of applications this year, so we
cannot offer interview to all the applicants. I hope you can understand our
situation. Thank you,

看了这封信，有些不快，特别是we cannot offer interview to all the applicants.
I hope you can understand our situation. 写的甚为无礼。

本人于是回了**** 这样一封信，提醒他们注意一下

Thank you for applying for the position of Assistant Professor with
Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. We strive to select candidates
who best match the skills and experience required to excel in this position
. As you can imagine, we received a large number of highly qualified
applications and selecting candidates to be interviewed was extremely
difficult.

Unfortunately, while we were impressed with your qualifications, we will not
be moving forward with your candidacy at this time.We appreciate your
interest in Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and we wish you
the best of luck in your continued job search and future endeavors.

这封信基本上是照抄别人给我的据信，发这封信，一方面是有些生气， 另一方面也是
想恶作剧一下上海财经大学经济学院 招聘的人

不料很快接到一个很有个性的回信，

看到这个信觉得太有意思，觉得上海财经大学经济学院也太牛了，恐怕连哈佛耶鲁都不
会如此，于是赶紧把这封信连同前面两份转发给田国强教授，告诉他这个喜讯。


如果谁今年申请上海财经大学经济学院， 大家没准会受到这样的回信，注意版权呀。
