The robust data is crucial to enable voluntary sector leaders and policy makers to better understand the giving environment and explore new ways of engaging with donors. This will become increasingly important as donors become ever more sophisticated in their philanthropy; looking for greater involvement, more interactive and immediate methods  of giving, and increased feedback on the impact of their donations.
