Research Assistant Positions in Economics - HKUST(GZ)
Position Overview:
The Urban Governance and Design Thrust at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) invites applications for 1-2 Research Assistant positions in Economics under the supervision of Professor Kelvin Yuen. The selected RAs will work closely with Professor Yuen on a range of exciting research projects within the domains of labor economics, macroeconomics, and behavioral economics.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough data and empirical analysis, including data cleaning, visualization, and statistical modeling.
Assist in the computations and simulations of various economic models.
Perform comprehensive literature reviews, summarizing findings and identifying research gaps.
Other ad-hoc tasks and logistics duties assigned
Qualifications:
Graduate-level training in economics.
Some experience in empirical analysis, preferably using software such as Stata, R, or Python.
Some familiarity or some experience in computational economics using, e.g., MATLAB or Python.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
Prior research experience in any field of economics will be an advantage.
