在American Economic Review、Journal of International Economics、American Economic Journal等国际一流学术杂志上发表论文多篇。目前承担有世界银行（World Bank）和货币基金组织（IMF）的多项科研项目。
自1995年至今担任美国俄克拉荷马大学（University of Oklahom）经济系助理教授、副教授（终身聘任）、教授，2007年至2009年担任国际货币基金组织研究部客座研究员，兼任世界银行顾问。附上鞠老师文章“开放新阶段和华夏共同体的构想”：
