Course Description
This course is designed to introduce the students to the use of SAS software for data
analysis in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Students will learn to create SAS datasets
from “raw” (ASCII) data and data from other programs (e.g. Stata, Excel, SPSS),
create new variables and modify existing ones, understand conditional processing and
program flow, use SAS functions and arrays, combine and reshape SAS datasets,
produce simple reports, program some basic SAS PROCs, produce graphics with
various PROCs and debugging SAS programs.
There are no special prerequisites for this class. You just need to be familiar with the
basic Windows functions like opening, editing, saving and closing a text or excel file.
