New home sales tumble 9.0% to twelve year low

The Census Bureau reported that new home sales fell 9.0% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 647,000 units in November. The last time new home sales were at this level was 1995. The median of analysts' projections (as surveyed by Bloomberg) was for sales of 717,000.
