关于这一句话，很有意思的一点是：领导活动实施的对象是明确的（职员），而服务的对象则不那么明确（为谁服务？）。
前者为契约/合同所限制，而后者更依赖领导者的主观意愿和才能。
同样地，前者的结果更容易被观察、控制和评估，而后者则有点“道存乎一心”的味道。

这句名言讲得好！但是很难有领导达到这个境界！是个社会问题，与人类的进化有关，随着时代的发展，社会的进步，这终将成为共识！

要成为一个好的领导，你必须去深刻认识和深入研究被你所领导的群体，要做到这一点，你必须知道他们的需求是什么，他们能从从你的领导中得到什么，也就是我凭什么接受你的领导，你能给我什么好处，这里自然而然就想到了服务，理性认识是从实践中来的，只有切实服务于你所领导的人，你自然就会成为一个好的领导者。

By serving we generally mean to offer certain service to the target members of a certain group.

我觉得servant应该是这个意思。servant leader授权，优先考虑其他人的需要，帮助他人发展，而且追求卓越。

只有这样，才更有同理心，更能换位思考。

不一定，因为二者不是一个概念，前者是从施政能力，后者从道德尺度。

不知道理解的对否，一个好的领导者首先是个好的服务员。意思就是从群众中来，了解群众，知道下属需要什么，这样才能做一个好的领导者。

甘为人梯，是领导的最高境界。但做到特别难，因为利益在诱惑！
